I Quadrupled My Adsense Earnings!
By moneymasher on Nov 20, 2007 in Uncategorized
So, my girlfriend has this wedding related blog that was making a little over $1 everyday for the past few months. The other day, I decided to try out a little experiment with this site. She also had a list that she had built up in Aweber of engaged ladies (she had originally built this list for her bridal shop). So, I thought, let’s put both of these together and see what happens. I created a quick little post and sent off a broadcast message to her list of 197 people. Well, out of those 197 people, only 55 people actually clicked on the blog link but look what it did to the Adsense earnings over the past couple days! Almost quadruple! Sooo…. List + Monetized Blog == $$

I would say that doing a new blog post and an accompanying mailout every few days should keep the money rolling in and it only takes a couple minutes more to send out the broadcast message.
Check out my previous post for more information on this method.
I’d love to hear from anyone else who tries this — just add a comment!

At least till your list gets married or unsubscribes.

That’s true….but with other more permanent niches it would work better. Or at least it’s not a type of “temporary list”.

Good idea. I’ve tried sending out post to my friends when my blog was new and I noticed an increase in page impressions and earnings. However, I was not able to determine it was from this technique, it’s only now that I remembered it. Good topics you have in your blog here.

I have to agree with James. If you send a mailout every couple of days a lot of those people are going to unsubscribe. Your click-thru rates are going to decline drastically as well.
If you can continue to renew the list with new names it might work.

Just shows how easy it is to make an bit extra with some marketing.

I’m actually going to post a follow up about this later today or tomorrow. I agree…there is a certain happy medium you have to find in the frequency of messages you send out to your list.

I’ve seen similar results when mailing a list. Of course the focus of the list makes all the difference. I have a feeling why you did as well as you did and that is the subscribers. I wrote a little blog post on this subject a while back which may shed some insight into my own observations. http://brucehopkins.net/adsense/adsense_and_gender.php
